Projects
Since I am an unrepentant geek, I spend a lot of my time casually programming various tools for use in my every day life. From dice rollers to feed my gaming habit to plugins for my WordPress sites, I’ve uploaded these here so that you might benefit from them, too.
WordPress Plugins
- Phorum
Phorum is my first attempt at a fairly complex plugin. It’s a forum package that integrates within your existing theme so that you no longer have to try and customize PHPBB, bbPress, Simple:Press, etc. in order to try and make it look like (or close to) the rest of your blog. - WP Guild Roster
In an effort to learn more about plugin development, I’m also working on a plugin for WordPress sites connected to World of Warcraft guilds like my own for Team Venture. This one is working out pretty well at the moment, so I might be uploading it into the WordPress plugin repository shortly. If you want to, you can see my guild’s roster to get a sense of what it can do. - WP Guild Calendar
Like the previous one, this is also centered around helping World of Warcraft guilds keep their online information in one place and organized. Given the calendar feed for a member of the guild in the WoW Armory it’ll display a calendar on your site of the events found in that feed. This one is still in “beta” which means I don’t even really have much to share at this time, but you can see it in action if you’d like.
Gaming Tools
- Shadowrun Database
It’s a “known secret” among some of the other volunteer game masters at the summer gaming conventions that I have a big database of some terms and rules for Shadowrun Fourth Edition on my laptop. It’s not really something I can share much about, since it violates copyrights I’m sure, but it is a great little tool. Currently, it focuses on the rules for magic users in the game, but I want to try and expand it to include the Matrix next and probably gear and vehicles after that. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of copying and pasting to get it all working so it’s a bit of a tedious process.
